Toward New Milestone in Net Zero! Coretronic Honored with Gold-Level Net Zero Label

The Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), through its Net Zero Label, encourages companies to advance toward net-zero emissions by following a two-stage pathway of “Commitment & Planning” and “Achieving Net Zero” to achieve net- zero emissions at office locations by 2030, and production and service sites by 2050. Coretronic Corporation (5371.TW), a TPEx-listed company known for its excellence in sustainability, won the “Gold-Level” Net Zero Label, in recognition of its outstanding performance in carbon reduction initiatives and sustainability governance. Only three companies received this honor in 2025, underscoring the label’s high level of rigor, credibility, and challenge. The award fully demonstrates Coretronic’s firm commitment and concrete actions toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Coretronic participated in the Net Zero Label Award Ceremony today (23rd), where it formally received the recognition.

Net-Zero Vision: Fulfilling Sustainability Commitments through SBTi
Coretronic responds to the Paris Agreement and the government’s “2050 Net-Zero Emissions” policy by actively advancing climate governance and implementing climate adaptation measures. In alignment with the SBT 1.5°C scenario, the Company has set carbon reduction targets: “Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50.4% by 2032 from a 2021 base year, and reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 30% within the same timeframe.” These targets were officially approved by the SBTi in 2024. In terms of tangible results, Coretronic’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions in 2024 had already decreased by 51% compared to 2021, surpassing the planned net-zero pathway and steadily progressing toward its 2050 net-zero targets. In addition, the Company has responded to the RE100 initiative, pledging to achieve 100% renewable energy use by 2040. As of 2024, the Company has installed 8 self-use solar power generation systems and procured renewable energy through green power wheeling and renewable energy certificates, achieving a 15% renewable energy usage rate. Coretronic continues to advance low-carbon operations and energy transition, demonstrating its determination to achieve low-carbon operations.

Net-Zero Actions: A Comprehensive Transformation from Carbon Reduction to Product Sustainability
Coretronic advances a systematic low-carbon transformation guided by its “Environmental Sustainability 4G Power”—Green Supply Chain, Green Manufacturing, Green Products, and Green Lifestyle—implementing comprehensive carbon reduction and energy efficiency initiatives across its operations to achieve its net-zero goals. The Company introduced an internal carbon pricing mechanism in 2021, applying internal carbon pricing to evaluate the investment benefits of ESCO energy-saving projects and solar power generation systems, supporting more optimized internal resource allocation and accelerating investments in low-carbon solutions. Coretronic also continues to implement diverse energy-saving initiatives. In 2024, a total of 30 energy-saving initiatives were carried out, reducing electricity consumption by 1,721 MWh and 868 metric tons of CO2e. Coretronic’s Chunan Plant received LEED Gold Certification for Existing Buildings from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), marking the Company’s first plant to receive an international green building certification. In addition, Coretronic collaborated with 15 suppliers to promote the “waste recycling and reuse program”, implementing recycling plans for packaging materials such as plastics and paper. The Company also adopts reusable packaging for material delivery and collection, which reduces raw materials consumption in packaging and containers to promote the concept of circular economy. In 2024, the quantity of materials recycled accounted for 97% of the total shipment volume. In terms of products, Coretronic actively develops green products by establishing clear strategies and quantitative targets for each stage of the product life cycle and establishing a product carbon footprint platform to accurately analyze emissions structures. Through increasing the use of low-carbon materials, as well as design and process optimization, Coretronic not only achieves energy savings and carbon reductions, but also enhances product competitiveness—demonstrating its firm commitment to environmental protection and net-zero emissions.

Looking Ahead: Advancing Toward Net-Zero Emissions by 2050
Looking forward, Coretronic will continue to place climate governance, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable value chains at the core of its corporate strategy. Driven by green technologies and innovative thinking, the Company will further advance its sustainability transformation by strengthening climate risk management and carbon reduction actions. At the same time, Coretronic will deepen the integration of sustainability strategies with business operations, expand its renewable energy deployment, and develop innovative carbon reduction solutions. By actively responding to global sustainability initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders, the Company aims to co-create a resilient and sustainable future, while amplifying its positive impact on society and the environment!
