Coretronic Corporation Announces Second Quarter 2015 Results
Hsinchu, Taiwan – Coretronic Corporation (5371.TW) today announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2015. For the second quarter ended June 30, 2015, Coretronic posted consolidated sales revenue of NT$16,939 million, up 7.2% QoQ and drop 19.5% YoY respectively. Operating income was reported at NT$241 million with a net income of NT$325 million. Net income attributable to equity holders of the parent company was NT$317 million with the basic EPS* of NT$0.58 per common share. For the first half of 2015, Coretronic reported consolidated sales revenue of NT$32,746 million and the operating income totaled NT$404 million with a net income of NT$620 million. Net income attributable to equity holders of the parent company was NT$607 million with the basic EPS of NT$1.12 per common share.
“For 2Q15, the BLU shipment was 19.57 million units, up 6% QoQ, mainly due to strong demand from TV、Tablet and NB models, up 31%, 15% and 8% QoQ respectively. The BLU revenue amounted to NT$10,928 million, up 8% QoQ. For 1H of 2015, the BLU shipment was 38.06 million units and revenue amounted to NT$21,075 million, drop 12% and 25% respectively.” said Ms. Sarah Lin, President of Energy Saving Product Business Group of Coretronic. “Look into 3Q15, the demand of PC-related products remained soft. Coretronic expect the overall BLU shipment will be flat QoQ. However, thanks to the TV application benefit from the new models mass production, we expect to improve the overall operational growth of BLU business in 3Q15.” said Sarah Lin.
“For 2Q15, the shipment of Projector products was 277K units and the sales revenue was NT$3,644 million, up 22% and 18% QoQ respectively. For 1H of 2015, Projector shipment was 504K units and revenue amounted to NT$6,721 million, drop 9% and 5% YoY respectively. This was resulting from increase contributed by new product launch in the first half.” said Mr. SY Chen, President of Visual Solutions Business Group of Coretronic. “Coretronic expects the monthly shipment quantity at 105K~115K units in 3Q15, up more than 20% QoQ.” SY Chen also indicates the outlook will gradually grow in the second half, through mass production of new generation of interactive ultra short throw and ultra-high brightness professional projectors, as well as providing total projection solutions for various application fields. Coretronic expects the projector products with 10% YoY shipment growth in 2015. Furthermore, the sales volume of high-end large venue and laser projectors will increase continuously and have a positive contribution to the Projector business.
