Coretronic (5371.TW), a TPEx-listed company known for its excellence in sustainability, honorably earned the 2025 EcoVadis Gold Medal with an outstanding score of 82. This exceptional achievement places the Company ahead of 98% of evaluated companies worldwide and significantly above industry benchmarks, underscoring Coretronic’s strong capabilities and long-term commitment to sustainability governance and practices.

EcoVadis is a globally recognized sustainability rating platform, with more than 2,050 companies having participated in the 2025 assessment to date. Many international companies also use EcoVadis as a key reference for assessing suppliers’sustainability risks and performance. The assessment covers four key themes—Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, and provides a comprehensive review of each theme’s policies and public commitments, actions and measures, performance outcomes, and regulatory compliance.

In the “Environment” theme, Coretronic achieved an impressive score of 90, demonstrating outstanding performance in climate governance. The company has adopted the TCFD framework and regularly identifies and assesses climate-related risks and opportunities to formulate concrete response strategies. Coretronic has set carbon reduction targets aligned with the SBT 1.5°C scenario, which have been officially approved by the SBTi. The company has also responded to the CDP questionnaire for six consecutive years and received “A List” leadership-level ratings for “Climate Change” and “Water Security” in 2024. In addition, the Company has actively responded to the RE100 and EV100 initiatives, committing to achieve 100% renewable energy use by 2040. To advance toward its net-zero goal, the Company has installed eight self-use solar power generation systems and procured renewable energy through green power wheeling and renewable energy certificates. In terms of product sustainability transformation, the Company has established a Sustainable Raw Material Policy that integrates low-carbon principles into its product development and manufacturing processes. Clear strategies and quantitative targets have been defined for each stage of the product life cycle, supported by regular self-assessments and ISO 14067 product carbon footprint inventories. Furthermore, the Company has developed a product carbon footprint platform to analyze emission structures, optimize product design, enhance energy efficiency, and increase the use of low-carbon materials, thereby strengthening the sustainability competitiveness of its products.

Coretronic achieved a significant improvement in the “Sustainable Procurement” theme this year compared with the previous assessment cycle. The Company continues to deepen its sustainable supply chain management by establishing clear strategies and targets and requiring suppliers to sign and comply with the “Sustainability Commitment Statement”, strengthening commitments to social and environmental responsibility. The Environmental Management System was officially launched in 2024. The top 100 suppliers by annual transaction value were invited and guided to submit environmental indicator data through the system to enable systematic environmental risk assessments. Moving forward, Coretronic will assist suppliers in setting renewable energy utilization rates and carbon reduction targets. The Company will also incorporate suppliers' carbon reduction performance into its sustainability performance evaluations and investment decision-making, gradually building a more resilient and responsible supply chain. In addition, the Company holds an annual Supplier Conference to recognize supplier partners who have demonstrated excellence in environmental protection and carbon reduction. Coretronic also collaborates with suppliers to promote a “Waste Recycling and Reuse Program”, adopting reusable packaging for material delivery and collection, thereby implementing the circular economy concept of waste reduction and establishing substantial results in building a sustainable supply chain.

In the “Labor & Human Rights” and “Business Ethics” themes, Coretronic has demonstrated continued and significant progress. In 2024, the Company’s headquarters obtained SA8000 certification, a globally recognized social responsibility standard, signifying compliance with international best practices in labor rights, employee healthcare and safety, the prohibition of child and forced labor, fair wages, reasonable working hours, and freedom of association. The Company remains committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and diverse workplace by promoting diverse employee communication channels and mental health care programs, while strengthening training and competency development to support employees’ growth and potential in a fair and open environment. These initiatives further enhance organizational cohesion and employee engagement. In the “Business Ethics” theme, Coretronic continues to maintain ISO 27001 certification to ensure information security and operational resilience. The Company has also established multiple transparent grievance and whistleblowing channels, upholding principles of ethical management and reinforcing fairness and trust in corporate governance. Furthermore, to strengthen the integration of sustainability into business operations, Coretronic officially incorporated sustainability performance into senior management performance indicators in 2024, ensuring that sustainability considerations are embedded at the core of decision-making and driving the Company toward a more resilient, responsible, and sustainable future.

The evaluation result serves as an important milestone and enabler for Coretronic in advancing its low-carbon transformation, green innovation, and sustainability initiatives. Looking ahead, the Company will continue to enhance its sustainability performance through regularly review strategic direction, demonstrate strong capabilities and a long-term commitment to sustainability management, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to create a sustainable future with shared value.
