Currently, touch modules are mainly used in combination with LCD modules that have backlight units. The touch function has made LCD applications more convenient and has brought even more technology into our lives. As for middle-size touch modules, now Projected Capacitive Touch Modules are mainly used for tablet PCs for example. This module comprises the cover lens, liquid adhesive, conductive film and control panel. In order to detect the position of the touch, patterned electrodes should be designed respectively in X and Y directions on the conductive film for the touch module. In this case, the signal will be transmitted to the control panel when the touch module is touched by the fingers. The signal received will be used to calculate the actual position of the touch with the algorithm in the control chip. The position will then be transmitted to the host (i.e. NBs and PCs) via USB, I2C and other interfaces and shown on the display. Thanks to the convenience of touch modules, the functions of general touch buttons, zooming and multi touches are now available for HMI (Human Machine Interface) to meet the requirements of customers.
