Sustainable Innovation, Leading Competitiveness! Coretronic Honorably Earned Six Awards from 2025 GCSA and TCSA Awards

The annual sustainability event, Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA), has been ongoing for 18 years, attracting 743 participating companies, an increase of 121 companies compared to 2024, setting a historical high. The 8th Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) were also announced. Coretronic (5371.TW), a TPEx-listed company known for its excellence in sustainability, won six awards, demonstrating its position as a comprehensive sustainability leader. At the TCSA, Coretronic earned five awards, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Awards—Platinum Award for two consecutive years, the Taiwan's Top 100 Sustainable Companies Award for seven consecutive years, the Transparency and Integrity Leadership Award for eight consecutive years, ranking first for six times, the Social Inclusion Leadership Award for  six  times, and the Talent Development Leadership Award for three consecutive years. At the GCSA, Coretronic earned the Sustainability Reporting Award—Bronze Award for two consecutive years, adding international recognition. Yesterday (26th), the CFO of Coretronic, as well as an ESG Committee member, Franck Ho, represented the Company to receive the award at the Grand Hotel Taipei.

Coretronic's Chinese and English 2024 Sustainability Reports follow the latest GRI Standards 2021 and adopt international standards such as SASB and TCFD, the Company also responds to the SDGs. The annual material topics and the sustainability report are submitted to the BoD for review and approval, implementing sustainability governance at the BoD level. The sustainability report has been assured with AA1000AS Type 2 high-level assurance for nine consecutive years, demonstrating a high level of transparency and credibility. In advancing sustainability strategy, the Company has set carbon reduction targets in alignment with the SBT 1.5° C scenario, which have been officially approved by the SBTi. Coretronic has responded to the CDP questionnaire for six consecutive years and was recognized with “A List” leadership-level ratings for “Climate Change” and “Water Security” in 2024. The Company introduced biodiversity risk assessments to systematically analyze its operational sites’ dependency and impact on the natural environment. Coretronic has actively responded to the RE100 and EV100 initiatives, committing to achieve 100% renewable energy use by 2040. The Company has installed eight self-use solar power generation systems and procured renewable energy through green power wheeling and renewable energy certificates to accelerate progress. With a long-term commitment to sustainability performance, Coretronic has earned the TCSA Corporate Sustainability Reporting Awards—Platinum Award and the GCSA Sustainability Reporting Award—Bronze Award for two consecutive years, and has been recognized as one of Taiwan’s Top 100 Sustainable Companies Award for seven consecutive years.

As a model company for corporate governance, Coretronic adheres to the “Corporate Governance Best Practice Principles for TWSE/TPEx Listed Companies” as the core of its corporate governance operations, establishing a comprehensive internal governance mechanism that enhances the quality and transparency of operational and financial information. The Company has established an Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee, and Nomination Committee to support the BoD in effectively fulfilling its responsibilities. To strengthen the association between business operations and sustainability, the Company officially incorporated sustainability performance into senior management performance indicators in 2024, ensuring that sustainability considerations are embedded at the core of decision-making. Coretronic has ranked in the top 5% of TPEx-listed companies in the Corporate Governance Evaluation for 11 consecutive years and has ranked in the top 10% of “TWSE/TPEx-listed electronics companies with market capitalization over NT$10 billion” five times. Additionally, the Company was honored with the “TPEx Governance Leadership Award”, and has been selected for ESG-related indices, including “TIP TPEx ESG 30”, “TIP TPEx ESG HD TR”, “TIP TPEx ESG ML Total Return”, “TPEx FactSet Climate Resilience”, “TPEx Compensation”, and “TPEx Labor Employment 88”. Coretronic has also earned the TCSA Transparency and Integrity Leadership Award, ranking first six times, further underscoring strong external recognition of Coretronic’s excellence and leadership in corporate governance.

Coretronic collaborates with the “Firefly Volunteer Team” and multiple stakeholders to launch six major social impact programs—“Light Wishes for the Rurals”, “Farm the Hopes”, “Light Pioneer”, “Love Followers”, “Dream Walkers” and “Elderly Smile”. Leveraging the company’s core expertise, Coretronic aims to address pressing societal challenges. To bridge the urban-rural digital divide, the Company continues to collaborate with students from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) and the Papacode to organize six sessions of “Future Light Camp 2.0”, enabling students to complete the 7th-grade to the first semester of 8th-grade programming curriculum ahead of time, and to collaboratively complete two game programs. In response to the growing need for elderly care, Coretronic focuses on material support, nutrition, and healthcare, launching three major initiatives under the “Elderly Smile” program: “Warm Delivery”, “Warm Telehealth”, and “Warm Restaurant”. Partnering with multiple social enterprises and NPOs, the Company leverages technology to reduce the gap between rural areas and medical resources, supplement medical resource shortages, and offer comprehensive support for the elderly living alone. Moreover, Coretronic has established robust volunteer management regulations, organizing an Annual Volunteer Gathering, Volunteer Day, and training courses, while offering Full-Pay Volunteer Leave with no limit to encourage employee participation. In 2024, nearly 8,000 volunteer hours were contributed, benefiting over 60,000 participations. Through its continuous efforts to expand social impact and create tangible change, Coretronic has won the “Social Inclusion Leadership Award” six times, recognizing the depth and breadth of its long-term charitable initiatives.
